Mod4PH: In 2015, Rachael had the opportunity to facilitate a forum with the NCCID consisting of mathematicians, epidemiologists, and individuals from other public health professions. The LinkedIn based, interdisciplinary forum, modelling for public health (mod4PH), was used to discuss the differences in terminology between the disciplines with the goal of coming to a consensus on the definition. A glossary of terms can be found on the NCCID site, and a methods paper documenting the process and discussion can be found in the publications blog.
Other research: In the summers of 2011-2012, Rachael worked at Sunnybrook Hospital where she participated in stroke and tumor research. This opportunity allowed her to work on organization skills, data analysis, and introduced her to the world of research.
