Postdoctoral fellowship- Optimizing intervention strategies for HIV among men who have sex with men

Rachael is currently working at McGill University under the supervision of Dr. Mathieu Maheu-Giroux. Through this position, she has used population level data to inform the parameterization, development, and calibration of an agent-based model of HIV transmission among gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (gbMSM) in Montreal. The model incorporates partnership formation and dissolution dynamics with the natural history of HIV, and the HIV care cascade. Rachael used approximate Bayesian computation- sequential Monte Carlo fitting techniques to  fit the model to population-level data. This model will be used to inform public health policy on the optimal course to achieve HIV elimination among gbMSM in Montreal.
